In Uganda, expectant mothers are required to bring all of their own delivery supplies to the hospital, including a baby blanket, sanitary pads, and diapers, which is a burden in itself—not to mention the shame associated with being unable to afford these items, which often results in unsafe births at home.

That's why we've partnered with Plural Studios and Sewing Hope Foundation to create one-of-a-kind reversible tote bags that can save Ugandan mothers and their newborn babies.

How it Works:
Plural Studios donates excess designer textiles that we tailor into uniquely beautiful designer tote bags. Then, for every tote purchased, a portion of the proceeds goes to the Sewing Hope Foundation which is led by Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe. Sister Rosemary’s programs help the most vulnerable women in Uganda transition out of extreme poverty through tailoring, adult literacy, and entreprenuership programs. With the donations we provide for every tote purchased, her tailors-in-training make and donate birthing bags to delivery centers to give to expectant mothers. Sister Rosemary’s programs not only elevate these women’s livelihood, but also give them an opportunity to save fellow women’s lives along the way.

An additional portion of the tote bag proceeds goes to supporting various Pipeline Worldwide projects and initiatives.
