UNMC Global Center for Health Security represents the power of academic medical partnerships to provide strategic connections, program expertise, and long-term collaborative planning that strengthens humanitarian organizations' effectiveness and sustainability. Their three-year relationship with Pipeline Worldwide demonstrates how university-based global health centers can create substantial impact through knowledge sharing and network development.

UNMC Global Center's most significant contribution involves strategic relationship facilitation, connecting Pipeline with the Infectious Disease Institute (IDI) and other organizations working on emerging infectious disease detection and response. These connections enable Pipeline to integrate its work with specialized public health programming, strengthening health systems overall.

Their expertise in infection prevention and control provides Pipeline with technical guidance for healthcare facility design and operations. This specialized knowledge ensures that Pipeline's investments incorporate best practices for preventing healthcare-associated infections, creating safer environments for both patients and healthcare workers.

UNMC Global Center has facilitated Pipeline's network development in both Omaha and Uganda, introducing them to potential partners, funders, and technical experts. Their collaborative golf event helped establish Pipeline's presence in Omaha's philanthropic community while creating ongoing fundraising opportunities.

Their commitment to strategic program planning involves regular collaboration on needs assessment, program design, and implementation strategies. This ongoing consultation helps Pipeline align its work with broader public health priorities and evidence-based practices.

As a future user of Lonyi Village facilities, UNMC Global Center will contribute to the sustainability and utilization of Pipeline's infrastructure investments. Their programs will provide ongoing activity and purpose for the facilities while creating opportunities for collaborative programming, knowledge-sharing, and network development.
